Primary Safety Rules
Treat Every Firearm As If It Were Loaded At All Times
This is a mindset. We must respect and handle every firearm responsibly, no matter if we believe it's clear or not.
Never Point A Firearm At Anyone or Anything That You're Not Willing to Destroy
If you're pointing your firearm at anything but your intended target(s), you are being negligent to the safety of those around you.
Keep Your Finger Straight and Off the Trigger Until Ready To Fire
Your finger should not be resting on the trigger as part of your normal grip. Your finger is to be Straight and along the frame/receiver by default.
Understand Your Target And What Lies Beyond It
Ask yourself "Can my target cause ricochets? (Steel/rocks)" "Is there a safe backstop behind my target(s)?" Failure to mind these factors can be reckless.
Registration Forms/Waivers
Your instructor will provide any/all necessary paperwork at the beginning of class. This varies depending on the course. (CCW, AR15, Emergency First Aid, etc)
Acknowledgement of Understanding
